Hello Niko, we need PBR Renderer in CopperCube, so that we can get better Graphics, with a lot of shaders like - gloss, Roughness, Albedo and stuff......

SSR Reflections and Reflection Probes which Unity has.

Would be an idea. It cannot be achieved with the current renderer, but I want to move to a newer on anyway.

Niko,

The current renderer is 15-20 years old.
The image quality in CopperCube is similar with Quake 3.
If you try to patch something like that you'll get very bad performances.
So you need so start again from scratch.

good luck

Something more:

These days almost no one is using the .MS3D or .X formats to import skinned meshes and animations.
These formats are dead for a long time ago.
You need to offer support for FBX, BLEND, MAX and other popular formats.

Waiting from a long time to hear that, it's time now...

There is no use talking to Niko about this...

People have been asking Niko for years for these features. We have also begged him to hire developers to help him.

He simply refuses to do any of this and says and I quote: "I will add it to my list" as some kind of public relations tactic.

We have not even received a proper coppercube update in almost a year.

We do not even, have proper VR or multiplayer support that people have been asking for since 2011.

I have always said, that Niko does not believe in the potential of his own engine, instead, he works on several different games and opensource products instead of focusing on what could be the best engine on the Market...

I mean seriously, no update for almost a year!?!?!? Just a bug patch from a few months ago???

Not even an alpha or a beta...He has not even told us what he is working on...people have asked, trust me...

Not cool

Currently he is working on the GUI of the engine and making terrain generator more advanced..... And we got a big feature of dynamic shadows in the previous update....

I remember what bilbo baggins said in the hobbit... In shire things change slowly.... Same is with coppercube things change slowly here...

An alpha or beta program is what we need right now.

If you put a Trabant 601 engine into a Porsche 911 car body, you won't get a better car.

I am currently working on the next major update of CopperCube. Twittering and blogging small previews of new features from time to time as you might have noticed. But going to post a bit more probably.

BTW: The last bigger update of CopperCube was in December, that's not too long ago, and it was a free update.

A rendering engine update would be welcomed by many, but the way you worded your post (Zoo) makes you look extremely entitled... Let him work at his one pace. Pushing him to do stuff isn't going to make him go any faster, and I'd much rather have a polished update than a rushed one which would only introduce one or two features.

If / when the renderer gets replaced, I'll rejoice! :) I'd be in Heaven if you managed to get it to have S2Engine-calibre visuals...
